About Madisonville, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Madisonville, Kentucky is a city in Hopkins County, and it serves as the county seat. Found within the Western Coal Fields region along Interstate 69, about 20,000 people reside in the community. The city is a major commercial hub for the region due to its location near many important roadways. Operations of companies like GE Aviation, Land O’Forst, Jennmar, and Carhartt are found here, and higher education is available at Madisonville Community College. Public education for children is provided by Hopkins County Schools with two high schools: Hopkins County Central and Madisonville North Hopkins.

Madisonville offers one of the largest varieties of outdoor recreation in the state. There are many parks in the city, including Cherry Park, Dr. Festus Claybon Park, Grapevine Lake, and Lake Pee Wee. There are plenty of places to hunt, camp, and fish, and there are thousands of acres of forests and grasslands.

In addition to outdoor recreation, there are plenty of other things to see and do in Madisonville. Melody Lanes is a popular place to spend a Friday night, and Madisonville Miners Baseball is also found here. Shopping is also available at Buds and Bows, Amanda’s, and Flax and Wool.

The climate of the Madisonville area is typical of a humid subtropical zone. Summers are humid and hot with average temperatures reaching into the upper-80s during July and August. However, there are many days when thermostat readings push into the 90s. Residents should thoroughly consider their options for central air conditioning. The right system – especially one with Energy Star designation – will make even the hottest of days feel cool and comfortable indoors.

Winters in Madisonville are cool to cold. Daytime highs reach into the 40s, although overnight lows could drop below freezing. Snowfall is relatively minor compared to other parts of the U.S., but sleet and freezing rain are common. Residents should use the warmer autumn months to service their gas or electric furnace. This way they can feel confident the system will work properly when needed.
